Heart failure occurs when the heart loses its ability to keep pumping blood with normal efficiency to the body. This means that the heart is not able to provide blood to the other organs such as the brain, liver and kidney. Heart failure occurs due to the failure of either one or both sections (ventricles) that pump blood to all the other parts of the body. The signs and symptoms indicate which section of the heart has been damaged and is failing. These include shortness of breath (dyspnea), cardiac asthma, congealing of blood in the body especially in the liver (stasis) swelling and blueness (edema) and enlargement of the heart (hypertrophy).

Heart failures occur for many reasons which include: Coronary heart disease which causes the heart muscles to weaken Muscle weakness resulting from toxins such as alcohol and smoking Heart valve disease which weaken muscles such as blood leakage or blocked arteries. High blood pressure caused by pressures and obesity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of heart failure patients, the percentage of the population of the UK that has heart failure, the mortality rate among such patients and the number of patients that are hospitalized each year with heart failure and the “association between precipitating factors its and clinical outcomes”.

The purpose of the study is to address healthcare issues about the % of patients admitted, % of patients treated in a cardiology ward, % of patients that died, % of patients discharged after treatment and the number of patients who were referred for cardiology follow-up and those who survived on medication. Other factors such as age, life styles, exercise or the lack of it,  smoking and consumption of alcohol, diseases such as being overweight (obesity), hypertension and diabetes. The most effective way to improve the functions to normal is diet control, shed extra weight and the use of medications. Diet control means eating food with the minimum amount of salt and with as little salt as possible.

The proper amount of fluid intake is also essential for patients that have suffered from heart failure.  Medicines are a major source for treating congestive heart failure and when correctly used at the appropriate time helps in improving the condition of patients suffering from heart failure or heart attack.  Besides the necessary medications many people get pacemakers for the treatment of heart failure. This device is implanted in the heart and it delivers balanced electrical stimulations to three chambers of the heart and is effective in treating heart failure by enabling the heart to pump blood more efficiently throughout the body.
